CAREER LEARNING CENTER NEWS

CAREER LEARNING CENTER

NEWSLETTER

The Career Learning Center has many linkages to the business world in the East Bay area.  These businesses are utilized for students to participate in a Vocational Evaluation On-Site Experience.  The purpose of the On-Site Experience is to provide a community based work experience as well as hands on experience.  The student is given the opportunity to explore their career interests within business settings.  It is the hope that the student gains valuable information that will assist them in determining if they have the potential to actually perform the demands, responsibilities and skills related to their career choice.  As a result of the On-Site Evaluation, students were able to identify whether to pursue their career choice or begin to explore other possibilities and some students have been fortunate enough to gain part time positions.  Employers were pleased with their performance and skill level to offer them a position.  Therefore The staff of the Career Learning Center, Sue Rohrman Vocational Coordinator and Sally Ribeiro Employment Specialist would like to thank these businesses/staff in valuing the importance of the Career Learning Center’s program and its mission to provide services for students with disabilities.  The following businesses have participated in the program since the beginning of this school year.
