Section Three: K-12 Teacher-Leaders New Coaches & Laboratory Teachers
These workshops will focus on Workshop Format, Gradual Release of Responsibility, differentiation of instruction, and the Six Strategies that effective readers, writers, and thinkers use (Visualization, Schema, Questioning, Inferring, Determining Importance, & Synthesizing).
Experienced Literacy & Numeracy Coaches & Lab Teachers
These workshops will focus on instructional strategies for differentiation, and unit design across content areas.
Math Interventions & Support: Four-Part Series
Intended audience would be K-12 special educators, ESL teachers, Title one math teachers, and math coaches. They will be developing strategies to address the needs of students who are performing below the standard in mathematics.
Literacy Interventions & Support: Four-Part Series
Target audience: Reading Specialists, Special Educators, and ELL Teachers
This four part series focuses on developing intervention strategies to address literacy issues. Topics to be discussed include:
Elementary Writing Workshop Three-Part Series for Elementary teachers
This three-part series will address the following topics: Ø Deepening the understanding of the writing process Ø Implementing components of writer's workshop o Constructing mini-lessons o Conferring during differentiated practice o Using strategies for sharing Ø Introducing and using the writer's notebook Ø Learning and applying the language of 6-traits in order to analyze student work, adjust instruction, and improve student writing.
*CEUs will be granted. You must sign up for the entire three-part series.
