Prebriefing: 30min. - 45 min

 

Ø     Norms—Do not interact with the class; No sidebars; Use reflective journal to observe; Stay in 
  assigned area

Ø     Determine goals and background of specific classroom

 

         

 

Observing: 1 hour – 80 minutes          

         

Ø     Use Two Column Notes: My Observations/My Thinking (I SEE, I HEAR, I WONDER)

 

 

 

Debriefing: 30 min. – 45 min.       

 

Ø     Ten-minute Quick Write about what I Saw/Heard and what I Wondered

Ø     Share in round-robin format

Ø     Coach facilitates and records responses

Ø     Classroom Teacher responds to feedback and questions

Ø     Open discussion follows
